When I enable "Media" to synchronize to my HTC TyTN II (WM6) I always
get a status "Need to be setup first" (or such).

I then opened WM (v11). It shows me TWO devices, the actual PDA and the
flash card that sits in my PDA. The flash card is the device that I
actually want to synchronize my media with, so I added a couple of
directories from my "My Music" folder here. That worked fine.

However, I do NOT want to sync ANY media files with the actual PDA
itself, since that is jam packed with data and applications and hasn't
any memory left for MP3's or videos etc. However, obviously
MS'programmers didn't foresee that case! If I disable that device for
synchronization I always end up with that annoying status msg. "needs to
be set up first" again. If I enable the synchronization, but do not
select any file to be synchronized, the device setup will not accept
that but only shows "at least one playlist must in the list of playlists
to sync".

How can programmers (or program designers) come up with such rubbish? I
mean: if they show such an error messages, then they obviously have
indeed considered the case where one enables synchronization, but has
not selected anything to sync. How can they conclude that this is NOT a
legal situation and insist on "there must be something to be
synchronized"? The user may very well enable synchronization but NOT
want to sync anything from that particular device (at least not at this
time)!

Or even better, the program should notice the fact that I have indeed
once been through this configiuration and that I decided to exclude that
particular device from synchronization. The setup thus is in the state
that it should be (or that I want it in) and so it HAS been completed.
So, remove that message!

Michael
